Hybrid work is a big change from the traditional or old work model. Let’s explore more about what a hybrid work model is and how we can transition to one smoothly.

What is hybrid work?

Hybrid work has many variations. Some companies might allow their employees the flexibility to work remotely. The same I’m experiencing at Blanchard India. On the other side, many companies gave permission to their employees to work either in a virtual model or full-time on-site, and others have allowed their staff a blend of both.

The value of hybrid work

A recent survey conducted with “Wakefield Research” shows that almost half of employees, i.e (47%) would likely look for a job if their employer doesn’t adopt a flexible working model. So, employees clearly see value in hybrid work. But what attracts the employees to a hybrid work model? Let’s explore and understand some of the advantages of hybrid work culture for employees and their companies.

Work when and how you’re most productive

In a traditional work model, people are expected to be present and be in their shift between 9 am and 5 pm every workday. In a hybrid work model, employees are experiencing more flexibility to get their work done when they’re most productive. For example, many people perform their best early in the morning while others do better in the late evening. They can also opt. to work with their team members on-site or do heads-down work from their remote location.

Better work-life balance

A recent study by “Slack” found that flexibility is a key factor why employees are attracted to the hybrid work model. Finding balance is convenient in a flexible work culture arrangement. When employees experience more control and balance of their work schedules, they can free up their time to take care of the things in their personal lives, whether it’s picking up kids from school, going to market for grocery shopping, or being home for a delivery.

Reduce exposure to illness

In a survey, a majority (66%) of employees say that they’re more worried about their health, security, and safety when it comes to returning to work. They feel fewer people in the workplace lowers the chance of a contagious employee infecting others. Companies also require medical health screenings or proof of Covid-19 vaccination for employees coming into the workplace, in a gathering of more than 25. And since people have the option to work virtually under most hybrid work models, an unhealthy employee can stay home altogether.

Hire talent across the globe

In a hybrid work culture model, the company can hire talent from all over the globe. Having access to a wider management talent pool means you can hire people with specialized required skills. This can give the organization a strong competitive edge.

This has given the liberty to employees and managers all over the world to work in a better, more productive, and flexible environment.
