Willing to Know how to Plan for the Next Few Years?

Today’s world demands clearer goals, an accurate assessment of where we are right now, and a plan for the future. We cannot sit back and think about the future without a goal in mind. However, this is a real challenge and we need to cope with it as everyone’s life has been turned upside down.

We cannot linger on the situation. The uncertainty right now is not good for our mental and physical health.  A temporary hold is manageable, but when it stretches out, it becomes unmanageable. Even more challenging right now is coping with the emotional challenges, workload, and a sense of uncertainty.

The world is witnessing a great change. We all have become flexible, reactive, and adaptive to the changing time. The trick here is to become empowered, confident, and ready to take on the challenges that come forward.

We need to be focused and concentrate on where we stand and must concentrate on our goals for the coming time. So, what should be that plan?

  • Planning about the first step that is achievable

1.  Examining the current situation

 There is a lot of pressure on us due to COVID-19.  But, managing the situation effectively can be advantageous. Finding out the fault lines and working on them can help. We can also get support from family, friends, and managers to cope with it. Finding small yet effective ways can get our needs met.

2. Deciding where want to reach with the new reality

Having a vision is most important. No one can reach anywhere without having a purpose in mind. When creating a vision, it is essential to discuss it with the people such as:

  • What is our vision?    
  • What we have lost in the last few years and how to achieve it?

This exercise will help to know our feedback, and help team members to connect with the basics that will drive the changes needed to move forward. This is a simple yet effective exercise to involve everyone and help them know about the organization and its values and vision.

3. Outline a clear first step

Being clear about the first step toward the plan is crucial. When the vision is clear, we can move forward without any fear. Take support and help from peers and be updated. It is the first step that can be the turning point. So, being clear and working towards the goal can be the best way to choose.

4. Take action now

Times have changed and it is our responsibility to make the best use of opportunities. Taking the first step, rediscovering the purpose, and committing to action can be the best way to move forward.
